Reverend Dana Tyrone Tillman is a son, a beloved grandson, a father, a grandfather and a husband; and above all these good things, the one thing he treasures most is being a child of the most high God.
He hails from Batesburg-Leesville, SC where he graduated from Batesburg-Leesville high school. He went on to attend Voorhees College and majored in business administration and finance.
Dana is a licensed realtor with EXP realty, a substitute teacher for Saluda School District One and community youth mentor.
He was baptized and served at Poplar Branch Baptist church in Batesburg, SC.
He began working at Michelin Tires in Lexington, SC and did so for 16 years until he stepped out on faith and formally accepted his calling into the ministry and became a licensed minister and later to become an ordained “Preacher of the Gospel” by the Simmons Ridge Samaritan Baptist Association.
Dana is married to the former Carolyn Yolanda Jones and they attend and serve at Lockhart Baptist church in Saluda, SC where Rev. Tillman serves as one of the Sons of the House under the leadership of Rev. Herman N. Jenkins.
Dana’s ultimate goal is to be pleasing in his heavenly fathers’ eyes and be a good disciple who helps to make good disciples and does so by daily applying one of his favorite scriptures Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.
” I believe God has burdened my heart for his people and I strive to build Gospel centered relationships. I try to minister to others by living a righteous life with a strong conviction of Biblical discipleship and servant leadership.”
